Paper-based UI prototyping

User interface design involves some preliminary steps before one actually gets down and does the dirty work in Illustator/Photoshop/Gimp. They usually are test cases, personas creation, wireframing the spec and of course, prototyping (in no particular order). Svenfoo’s recent blog post titled paper prototyping for fun and profit offers a great insight on how you can let users, with just a notepad and a pen, do the initial mockup prototype for you.

Of course, the UI team of Hanmail (Corea’s largest webmail provider) took the concept of paper prototyping to a whole new level. ^_^
