Daily misery

Something must had gone terribly wrong in my head when I somehow promised Joleyn I was going to make dinner for us earlier today. My fridge was (and still is) as always, empty and I havent do my dishes for like a week. There was me, holding the pan in one hand and a spoon on the other, eyes on the ceiling wondering whether I should just borrowed some food from my beloved neighbors. Things didnt look so good.

So I was trying to log in to my Cingular account today and guess what, it gave me unstyled pages all the way! It looked like the stylesheet was not being cached or linked properly or something until I read the ‘error’ message on top of the page.

I know, I know. ‘Morning glory’ doesnt really last that long after all. After launching puppylab.com, I have this sudden crush on elegant and classy design based on clean and simple look. There’s nothing wrong with the pink color on previous design. Neither do I hate the long list of links at the right sidebar. The float:left comment box is perfectly fine. But that design itself has a couple of limitations that prevent me from doing what I really want to do with DM. So I need a change and change is good.

As always, all the other sections (colophon, archive…) have not been ported to the new design. Give me a week or so and everything will runs as smooth as uhm, it has never been before. Being an Oasis die-hard fan, this theme is named ‘Stand by me’.

This is not some ground-breaking css design. Just my new profound taste on what a clean design should look like.

I am going to bitch about standards and their conformity level in the web technology world today.

I ask myself the same question almost everyday while developing web sites/applications that are cross platform, cross browser and cross-whatever-people-like-you-and-me are using to access the web. (more…)

Since at least 10 people asked me what my MSN nickname was suppose to mean yesterday (even the Indian software engineer that I work with) , I would like to share with my readers the source of the mysterious quote.
