Daily misery

As I have not finish renovating Raspberry in Rhapsody (It takes forever, i know!), I have decided to put on a weblog on my redirected-front page so that everyone can check out the progress of its ‘divine reincarnation’. I also find this as a way to inform my friends that ‘ i am allright, as healthy as ever’. The website is not suspended, nor is it being targeted for a Denial-of-Service(DOS) attack, it’s just not quite done yet.

As of this moment, I will also halt my blogging activity at weiping.blogspot.com. It should remain there for ages before Blogger even tries to terminate the account. I will write my diaries here, so…

Thanks for the emails, phonecalls, instant messages and panties(how i wish), I truly appreciate it.

**RIR progress: 30% complete**

I used Wordpress 1.2 this time to publish and edit my blog. It’s an open source project, and free..:D. Well, it took me hours just to configured and tweaked the customized templates, not to mention many more hours to set it up with my web host. The fact that it’s written in PHP and has a very useful development forum really help me pull it through. Seriously, this tools has a very poor documentation. Had it written in perl which i have little knowledge of, God knows how long i will get stuck with it.

I do have other options such as movable type and blogEvo, but wordPress is the most simple and organized tool and it can be easily installed within my Cpanel CMS. So shut up, Wilson :D.

Just watched ‘Remembering the Titan’, man it’s a good movie. It’s always nice to witness the beauty of American dream being materialized by the combine powers of racial integration and for the love of the game.

Underground hacker? What is that wil? Is that even a profession? Or a hobby? Me aint no underground man, i am PRO. *Joking*

Speaking of hacking, i have quite a story to tell my readers about it.
**The following material that i am about to release is to serve as a purpose to educate general public about the importance of computer/network security and should you decide to use it for other purposes, it’s your own risk to take**

It all went back when i was 15 i think. So i should start by mentioning this girl named L, who happen to be my first girlfriend. Being my first crush, i was anxious to know how she thought of me and what she told her friends about me and stuff like that(apparently i wasnt so self-assured back then). Getting into her email box was obviously the fastest way to get those precious ‘intel’. I didnt have a clue about password sniffer or anything like that back then, so i did what i believed many boys of my age would do that time, TAKE A WILD GUESS!(Yeah, you all losers!) It’s really not that hard though if you know the person well. For her, its her birthday date. So typical of girl…..Apparently she found out (I didnt know clicking on new messages would change the indicator color of it when someone else log in the next time), we broke up. Until today, she remains the one and only email address among all my friends and family that i have hacked into.

My first real email hacking is when i was about….emm..17 i think. I used what my professor would term it as ‘dictinary hacking’. Matching a wordlist containing thousands or even hundredth of thousands of words against another identical or different wordlist to obtain ‘username’ and ‘password’. It’s an ancient hacking mechanismem but back then SSH/SSL wasnt as secure as now, so what the heck. After doing some researches and starting to learn C programming language, i wrote my first cute dictionary hacking program when i was 17. Back then, the fastest consumer pc was like pentium 2 100Mhz. So the program could probably calculate matching scheme for around 50 tries per minute, and that’s a long wait! Right now, one can do it in seconds and can easily obtain long list of words saved in .txt file in various website such as dictionary or encyclopedia webpages. I stopped using dictionary hack after about 6 months later (when i was still 17 that is), it’s too slow and boring…..But it does work superbly though, porn websites, subscribers websites and email accounts come at apparent ease ( i randomly picked email address from internet to try the program out, dont worry, it not yours!), provided I have the right word in the wordlist, of cuz. And back then, i have a very very long wordlist!

Then i proceed to taking advantage of the security hole in various email systems to get the password. I wouldnt explain the process here as different email system has different flaws and it would take forever just to get into the intro. Being who i am, it’s hard to resist the temptation when someone post it on the forum: “Dear fellow sniffers, check this site out, i have come to realise…then….and wallaaa it works” Get what i mean?
i switched my interest to encryption mechanism after i entered college. I have studied several encryption mechanisms ranging from the toddler-grade Caesar encryption to the steel-like blowfish encryption. Only manage to hack one or two. Anyone who has any info on hacking blowfish crypto, pls feel free to share it iwth me :). I heard it can be done on linux platform, but….not sure.

Allright, time to clear a few things up before my mailbox got bomb.
1. Dont email me asking me to teach you how to hack into your girlfriend email account, i will only send an email back to her, telling her about your evil yet cowardish intention.
2. I did not hack for the money, nor did i ever make use of any information that i have obtained from my hacking activity. I hack for the thrill of it and to learn more about it. It’s all about the knowledge guys, that’s the precious thing.
3. Yes you can give your email to me. I had only hacked two of my friends email, first being L and the second being my current gf’s, who asked me to do it as she had forgotten her password. Again, typical of girl…hai~~
This is smth i cross my heart for, but if you still have a hard time believing me, we can mail each other using pigeon.

I think there’s quite a few indie aternative groups out there that really suprise me with their own package of music. I was totally blown away by groups like Coheed and Cambria (whatever that suppose to mean), the photographics and our lady peace(they are quite famous now though). Maybe its time music-lovers start to take notice of self-recorded urban music, instead of the contemporary rock sound. Well there isnt really any ‘pure’ rock group nowadays anyway, ‘The Darkness’ is as close as you can get.

My cellphone contract is going to expired in two months time. I am thinking of getting one of those broadband phone for a change this time. It’s cheap, good sound quality and tonnes of features to come along with. But i cant carry it around and that sucks. Check out this company: Vonage

Watched the ’string theory’ in science channel, it got my head all string-up allright. Anyone who has an easier way of explaning the theory pls feel free to drop me a comment. And i mean it, make it easy!

Now they are talking about the possibility of genetically cultivating a new species of rose - the blue rose. Of cuz as we all know, the closest anyone has ever came in cultivating a blue color rose, genetically or naturally, they end up with a purple one. Wait till you hear about the blue apple, or the blue watermelon (hey we already have yellow watermelon, so who knows!).

As i scanned through the list of existing media streamings in mp4, i came across quite a few number of propaganda streaming sites, ranging from Islamic extremist movement to Falun Gong sect. Damn, cant a boy just watch his ‘naruto’ or bugs bunny’s cartoon?

I am living in a real f***ed up world. I mean now you have people who actually works as a contract mercenary, personal security guard, corporate sniffer and what next… a job posting looking for a babysitter that will have a Magnum pistol strap across his/her arm? I just feel sorry that these professions have to exist in the nature of our daily living life. Boy do I miss those days where gigolo is the only profession everyone feels icky about.

Man, ever since I got this drive my whole life has changed. I mean, right when I got it, all these women just started hitting on me like crazy. I couldn’t believe it!!! Now, I’m married and I just won the lottery!!! Everyone needs to get a plextor 712A!!! Believe me, it will change your life!!!!

my 2 cents: So that’s why plextor charges such a high price for their drives ;O).

Is it just me or Malaysia is just not that safe for normal beings (all living things that is) to live by anymore?

When i went back for summer holiday couple months back, there were several high profile crime cases decorating the pages of various daily newspapers. Cases such as the killing of young malay girl (her name is Noreeta i think), or the Al Capone- style assasination of a branch MCA youth leader caught the eyes of the nation. Yet those cases remained unsolved till this very day. Add that to the number of highly-disputed court decisions in handling other criminal cases(Carolyn Janice Ahmed homicide), and the increasing number of snatch robberies, hate crimes, high school ganglanders and of course the widespread corruptions in many government branches *cough* police forces *cough*, we got ourselves a pretty nasty place there.

One thing that is very distinct between some portion of malaysians and americans is the way they treat animal. Malaysian treats a dog like a DOG! I just found out from a friend that her dog had just been beaten to death by her 80 year old grandfather. He can be throwed into jail for such crime in US for crying out loud! The fact that he was drunk that time doesnt help much in easing my heartache either. And i am not generalizing this fact base on one particular incident, i mean we practically invent the word ’stray dog’ because there’s such an enormous amount of ‘unwanted’ dogs lingering down our streets. And we eat DOGS, CATS, RABBITS and God knows what else. What’s the big fuss about killing an animal anyway? Maybe there’s ntg to shout about, or maybe not. But dont come and talk to me about creating a loving and caring community when you feel there’s ntg wrong about the statistical fact that stated the number of dogs being killed by automobiles in Malaysia is almost five times higher than the number of human casualties for the same cause. My gf once told me: ‘ One cant actually love someone unless one start to love ones teddy bear’. I couldnt agree more.

Believe me when i say the list goes a long way….(Dont even get me started on the STPM thingy). I can only explain the motive of my posting the same way as i had defended my american professor for her mild anti-americanisme teaching in her sociology class - ‘You can only love your country so much to be so critical about it’.

I love Malaysia. But ‘truly the beauty of malaysia’ ? Well….

Finished the entire series of ‘24′ season 2. I tell you this series is so good, it’s like you are actually living in its world.

If only President Palmer is the real President of United States. Uncle Bushie can really learn a lot from him.

Allright i know this might be a little bit late, but i think i have a celeb-crash on Elisha Cuthbert. I first came across her in the tv drama series ‘24′, where she played Kim Baeur, Jack Baeur’s(main character) daughter. She cried a lot in the series. Then just a couple hours ago, I watched ‘the girl next door’ and this time i get to see the other side of her - the sweet side of her. And i say to myself: this girl is gorgeus!

Anyway, she’s a real sweetie with a vanilla ice smile. Guess its “king Arthur’ down one step, up ‘The girl next door’

The computer science faculty has been moved to a new building, and life has never been better. Good bye Oh old haunted Ferguson hall.

Oh by the way, fall semester has just started.

Coding the preloader seems to be a lil’ bit more complicated than what i initially expected. So it’s going to take more time. Anyone who know how to add a preloader for a linkage dynamic swf. movieclip, pls drop a line.

Other than that, i will try to add more pages as time goes, so sit tight and stop complaining the ‘book’ is too thin. Each page requires hours of ‘photoshoping’, not to mention the process of JPEG crunching and fitting it into the flash ‘book’. It’s really a time-consuming process. Nevertheless, i enjoy every single moment of it.

Thanks to MACC for the original actionscript and documentation, you make it a lot easier for novice animation coders like me to understand and modify your codes. Making it free for open source development only further deepened my admiration for you.
